Fired for blogging?

I linked to this story a few days ago, but since then I've realized I didn't really come out against this incredible act of idiocy nearly enough in my previous post on Wednesday. I'm ashamed that I only ended up linking it because I was wrapped up in my own issues about my blog's value and readership, and I liked something her husband had to say about blogging.

Employee of social networking company fired -- for blogging!

Acorrding to Technorati, as of this writing 159 bloggers have linked back to Troutgirl's weblog. One of them wrote a piece recently that convinced me I needed to give this issue a little more screen time in my own blog. Especially because some of you might still be Friendster users.

Cancel your account here. Be sure to let them know in the "reason" box that you're canceling because they fired an employee for blogging.

I didn't get a screen cap of me canceling my account like the instigator of this boycott did, but here's the happy end result:
